It has been rearranged so that it may be played on SOLO ACOUSTIC GUITAR.
The reference version is the nascent version performed by Adrian Belew
during his solo acoustic tour.
Errata (and simple stupid mistakes) can be brought to my attention
at (mailto:markjx@aol dot com).

You've really got to listen to this one to get the groove. I think
it's in 6/4 time and the bass notes (mostly low Gs) are played as
alternating quarters and eighth notes. Barre the 3rd fret to get
the G and use it as a base for the melody.

END

Between choruses there is a little lick that gets inserted.
This is how I think it's done:

- - - B D - - - A B - - - 8.A - - - A.B {sorry for the HEX notation.
- - - - - - - - - - - -6.6- - - -9.9- - Translate as A=10, B=11, etc..
- -C.C-C- - -C.C-C- - - - - - - - - - -   to get the proper frets}
A.A - - - A.A - - - 6.6 - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 8.8 - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

REPEAT

Then comes the easiest part of the song; the solo (one finger!):

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

- - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - -

REPEAT

I'll leave it to the reader to put everything in the right place. ENJOY!

Has anybody been able to TAB the whole song?
I'd appreciate it if someone would bother to send it to me or to the list.

This is how the solo goes, I think.
E------------I------------I------------I------------I
B---------6--I---------4--I------------I------3--4--I
G------8-----I------7-----I------5--7--I------------I
D---5--------I---5--------I---3--------I---5--------I
